Turning & Milling

Merc Engineering specialises in high quality CNC Machining Services. Merc and its team of highly skilled engineers have been offering CNC Milling and CNC Turning to a wide variety of market sectors for several years.

Regular investments in state-of-the-art machinery from market leaders such as Doosan, Citizen and Matsuura enable us to offer second-to-none CNC machining services to all our clients.

Merc's core competency lies in its CNC Turning and CNC Milling sections, where precision engineered components are routinely produced for incorporation into all manner of critical assemblies. In addition to the standard 2 Axis CNC Lathes and 4 Axis CNC Machining Centres, Merc's skilled personnel also set and program twin-spindle, twin-turret CNC lathes with cross drilling and milling, and Sliding Head CNC Lathes with a capacity of 72 mixed turning tools and milling cutters.

Merc's extensive CNC Turning and CNC Milling line-up is now complemented by a Mill/Turn Section.

Our Doosan Puma MX2000 utilises a rotating turret device enabling features at any angle to be easily machined into turned components.

The power, speed and adaptability of the Doosan Mill/Turn centre allows us to produce milled components from diameter bar faster than is possible on vertical machining centres.

Merc's CNC Turning and CNC Milling sections are able to machine a wide range of materials including not only aluminium and stainless steels, but also industrial plastics, high temperature exotic alloys and Metal Matrix Composites.

The CNC Machining facility is backed up by an extensive conventional machine shop consisting of Centre Lathes, Milling and Grinding machines which carries out small, medium and large batch work, 'one offs', development machining, fabrication and tool making.
