Merc receive AS 9100 Aerospace approval

In order to respond to the increased demand from existing and potential Aerospace customers, Merc has recently gone through the AS 9100 audit process and was awarded the approval early September.

Merc’s sister company Bright Spark already held this approval, and the combined capacity of both companies now enables Merc to tender for larger packages of Aerospace components.

Says Mr Nuttall: “Due to the industries we are involved in, the quality team had been growing at Merc even before we decided to go headfirst into aerospace. We sell a wide range of critical components to the power generation sector where inspection levels are stringent and require a healthy infrastructure to support the production cell. We pride ourselves of our quality performance with nearly zero rejects over the past 24 months. We only required a minor restructure to our setup to comply with AS9100, and this new approval will hopefully help us in to place ourselves at the forefront of the market to supply packages of components to the key aerospace players.”
