After another busy year in this challenging economic climate, the team at Merc is now looking forward to the forthcoming Christmas break. Our door will be closed from the Wednesday 23rd of December at 6pm and will reopen on the Monday 4th of January at 7.45 am.

In order to showcase our recent supply chain improvements and innovations, Merc will be exhibiting at the AeroEngineering Conference in Manchester, 10-11 November 2009, stand 302.

Merc have recently been accepted in Cohort 6 of the prestigious North West Aerospace Alliance (NWAA) Aerospace Supply Chain Excellence (ASCE) programme and were allocated a mentor from local Aerospace Prime Contractor Aircelle Ltd who will coach the company on their journey towards World Class Manufacturing status.

Following on our success 2 years ago at DSEi, Merc has once again booked a stand at the World’s most prestigious Defence Tradeshow which is due to take place at London’s Excel, from 8th to 11th of September. We will be exhibiting in Hall 1, Stand 1648.

Merc Engineering has just announced that the 30% annual growth sustained by the company over the past 7 years, will be maintained and probably even exceeded for 2008/2009, thanks to massive investments in personnel and its knowledge base.

Merc Engineering personnel were recently rewarded for their continuous improvement strategy and investments in their ground-breaking factory Management software, after winning the Innovation category of the Lancashire Telegraph Business Awards, the area's very own "Oscar ceremony" for local companies.

In order to respond to the increased demand from existing and potential Aerospace customers, Merc has recently gone through the AS 9100 audit process and was awarded the approval early September.

Merc Engineering UK Ltd showcased its services amongst the best of Aerospace manufacturers last month at the Farnborough International Airshow. Merc's provision of world class manufacturing services has not gone unnoticed by the Market leaders of the aerospace sector, and the exhibition resulted in several promising enquiries.

Merc will be showcasing their recent success at the 46th year of the Farnborough International Airshow in July 2008. The company has booked a stand on the NWAA (North West Aerospace Alliance) pavilion, stand D14, Hall 1.

Merc are delighted to announce the acquisition of local engineering company Bright Spark Precision Engineering. The completion took place in February 2008 and will result in a promising future for both Merc Engineering and Bright Spark, as well as their customers.

In line with Merc's vision of achieving World Class Manufacturing Status, the company has been developing and is now operating its own Factory Management Software.

Following the receipt of substantial orders from the fast-growing medical market, Merc is now investing in new machinery to support its customers.

At Merc, the month of October is synonymous with the bi-annual results review. For the sixth consecutive year, our growth targets have been met and thanks to our 25 new customers, Merc's turnover should grow by another 80% by 2009.

Merc Engineering has just joined NDI (Northern Defence Industries Ltd) this month, a prolific networking Defence Manufacturer Association aiming to help its members, through events, exhibitions, and business support programmes.

Merc and its personnel have been supplying Defence Industry components on a regular basis for over thirty years.

Merc's substantial investments in the stringent welding approval DIN 6700-2 have proven to be successful. 2006 Berlin Exhibition InnoTrans gave our company the lead by introducing us to many railway market leaders.

Merc Engineering recently opened its doors to a delegation of Chinese visitors from the Changzhi province. Hosted by Pendle Council, the Chinese guests were visiting the area to forge business links between the two areas.
