Bright Spark Precision Engineering is a Nelson-based company, approximately one mile from Merc. The firm has been manufacturing precision components for many prolific Aerospace and Motorsport clients for over 17 years. Experts in horizontal machining, the company's large machine line-up complements Merc's extensive investments in Barrowford.
Employing fully skilled personnel, Bright Spark Precision Engineering has significant expertise in horizontal machining and it counts the Aerospace & Defence industries as its most prolific markets, serving various prestigious groups in these sectors. Most of the precision components supplied are complex in nature and require tight deadlines as well as critical tolerances.
Bright Spark's position as a recognised supplier to the Aerospace sector is thanks to its investments in technology as well as the flexibility and technical know-how of its people. The company is approved to the AS9100 Aerospace standard, and has been responsible for producing components for all manner of Aerospace and aircraft interior devices, including military seating, commercial seating, and bed seats for Virgin's first class cabins.
Benefiting from more available production space, Bright Spark will allow the Merc Group to venture into new exciting areas. Both companies complement each other to offer their existing clients the best possible services, working together to fill and benefit from one another's capacity.
Bright Spark will continue to concentrate on higher yielding batches, utilising large Mill-Turn centres and horizontal machining centres.
